With the recent court ruling that cruise ship head tax fees must be tied more closely to the ships themselves (definition of ruling still unclear), more and more attention is being paid to the idea of electrifying more of the downtown berths. The majority of ships that arrive in Juneau with their million plus passengers are plug-in ready. This summer’s boat load is to be 250,000 passengers more than 2018, bringing a total of 1.3 million to our town.
