Volkswagen Diesel Settlement

Alaska is the beneficiary of $8.125 million from the federal Volkswagen Settlement for Volkswagen’s installation of illegal software in diesel vehicles designed to cheat emission tests. The Alaska Energy Authority is overseeing this beneficiary process in Alaska and recently announced both the process moving forward and the news that southeast Alaska will be receiving $125,000 for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Renewable Juneau has worked closely with CBJ throughout this process and will continue to do so. It is our hope that southeast will receive further VW money to be put towards electrification of both public and school transportation systems.
